Hello! My name is Rianna. I have been a resident of the South Bay area since childhood and have been teaching water safety and swim lessons in the Torrance and Redondo Beach areas for 7 years. I am great with all ages and all swim levels. I am very enthusiastic and energetic and enjoy teaching my students to have fun while learning how to swim. I love working with children and also love to work with special needs children, especially children who are dealing with autism.

Some of my highlights as an instructor follow:

Work well with special needs swim pupils, including but not limited to children and adults with autism.

Experience teaching water safety to all ages and abilities in group and private lesson settings.

Help my students conquer their fears of the water and build up their confidence by teaching them lifesaving water skills.

Conducted swim lessons and supervised (lifeguarded) the childcare children in the water.

I adapt my teaching style to the needs of each of my swim students individual learning styles. Each swim pupil varies in natural ability, fear level, coordination, and overall learning and personality traits. As such I adapt to them for optimal results. I take what I have learned from years of working at swim schools and keep what has proven to be beneficial and discard what has not worked. I add my own teaching techniques that I've developed over the years. Most importantly, I make lessons fun and make them a positive experience.

I am a Bishop Montgomery High School Alumni and am currently attending California State University for a B.A. in Psychology. I have taught swimming lessons for over 7 years for all ages and abilities, from children as young as 3 years old all the way to senior citizens and at all levels of expertise from the non swimmer to the advandced.
